FRIDAY FAVES: SLEEPERS

New to the blog--every week I will post a favourite brand and why. Here's the catch: I need your participation to then add your faves too. The reason I am doing this? Sometimes moms get hooked on one brand until they find out about another type that's out there. With Friday Faves we can inform each other and discuss! Post your faves, comment on someone else's, whatever--the more information the better! New Topic every week!

TOPIC: SLEEPERS

I love COSTCO sleepers. PEKKLE is the brand and they retail for $7.
The reason I love them? The price (obviously) and they wash well and the fit is good. I was super fortunate to get hand me downs from my good friend Bernie. She bought these sleepers for her son--so most of the sleepers that my son is wearing have already been used and they are still in great condition.
Things I don't love about them? Typically very gendered (blue + cars...pink + flowers) with rarely a gender neutral option. The zippered ones only come out every so often--so if you see a zippered one--grab it!

  1. I like the gagou tagou sleepers because they are long and are zippered.

  2. Children's place has good sleepers because the ankles stay put.
The store often has deals for the sleepers--they are a little more expensive but better quality.

I was given a gagou tagou and didn't like it--sorry Jenny. I found it hard to get my ds' right leg into it.

  3. My very favourite sleepers in the world are are the one-piece zippered organic cotton sleepers from Hanna Andersson. If you have never heard of Hanna Andersson, check out the website at www.hannaandersson.com and I guarantee you will quickly become addicted. I love them because the cotton is thick and washes incredibly well and the sizing is brilliant so the sleepers last a really long time on growing babies. Leah is wearing hand-me-down Hanna sleepers from her brother and they still look like brand new (and she has been wearing the same size for about 5 months). I really like that there are no feet so I don't have to worry about (a) trying to wrestle feet into a sleeper when baby is tired, or (b) baby growing out of sleeper because feet are too big (happens a lot in my family).

The drawback to the Hanna stuff is that it is crazy expensive! On sale (and there is always a sale so don't buy anything regular price), they are about $18US but then you have to add shipping and duty. And since you quickly become addicted to the Hanna stuff because it is such good quality and so cute and so easy to shop on-line, you can't just stop at one sleeper and each shipment easily reaches $100 before you know it. But you will have the clothes for a really long time, so if you are planning multiple children they could be a good investment.

I got my first Hannas as a gift from a US friend. I now give Hannas as baby gifts for friends in other cities because the gift option makes it super easy.

  4. I love, love, love children's place sleepers. As described above, the elastics kee the feet in place. They are long and slim but stretch out if need be. Once baby starts crawling, the feet really stay on. Also, they have the fleece ones for the winter which are really nice when baby tosses and turns and doesn't stay covered. Also, the zipper! I refuse to buy sleepers with snaps, way too much trouble!

  6. I LOVE the Carter's snap sleepers, especially the terry cloth ones. I was so sad to find out that they only make them up to 9 months. Then they have cotton zipper ones which I have not tried. Bonnie Togs in Promenade mall often has sales on the Carter's sleepers. In the fall I bought some for $5 a pair.

  9. First off I would like to say awesome blog!
I had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing. I have had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Cheers!

  10. Asking questions are truly pleasant thing if you are not understanding anything totally,
except this piece of writing offers pleasant understanding even.
